My dryer has power (drum light comes on) but there are the lights do not come on on the touchpad. Cannot run the diagnostic because no lights on the touchpad. Basically, one day it worked, the next day there were no lights. My husband checked it out and cannot see any problems with obvious issues. He unplugged and re-plugged everything on the control board and when he re-assembled the dryer and plugged it in, IT CAME BACK ON!
Since then, he has had to manually do this for almost every load. The dryer has been limping along like this for several months. There was a period of time afterward when it was working fine for about a month. This week he had to manually start the dryer the unplugging/plugging in way. The next day, the touchpad came on spontaneously with a drying time, even though I wasn't using the dryer. I tried turning it off, but it turned back on again by itself. This happened a couple of times. To stop this I turned off the circuit breaker. Since I switched the circuit breaker on, I cannot get the lights on the touchpad to come on.
I love this dryer and would like to keep it if possible. I cannot tell if the problem is with the Touchpad/control panel, or if the problem is with the motherboard, or both.
Can someone help?
