Hi,
I have a Maytag MTB1753AR. I don't know how old it is - I'm in a rental cottage and I'd like to see if I can do anything with it before calling the landlord. The ice maker was working fine until today, when it stopped. The levers/prongs (or whatever they're called) are in about the 2:30 position and not moving, not making a sound. There was ice in the trays, so I took a hair dryer to it and melted the ice, but to no effect. Do I have to tell the landlord he needs a new icemaker, or is there something else I should try? I saw a post somewhere suggesting checking to see if there's power to the ice maker, but I hate to mess around with electrical connections and water... :(
Thanks!
