Help! My ~6 year old KitchenAid oven/microwave wall unit is having problems.
Cooked Easter dinner yesterday and when it was over, turned off the oven, and a message appeared on the oven display prompting me to "Enter the Probe Temperature or Remove Probe".... and there is a beep every couple of minutes to drive me out of my skull!
Problem being no probe is installed (not sure I've seen it since we moved in). I tried cleaning the probe receptacle with soap and water. Tried turning off the breaker for minutes/hours with no effect. The oven display is basically locked until you enter a probe temp, and then you can Bake/Broil/etc. The oven will operate normally until you turn it off.
Once I turn the oven off I can't even go into the Options and turn off the beep.
Is there anyway to disable the probe receptacle without pulling the oven out of the wall? Is the best option to replace the probe receptacle? Any hints on doing that?
Thanks.
