I've read and viewed an associated post in connection with a similar problem. Before I go ahead and tear the machine down would someone be kind enough to answer a couple of questions? NB this dishwasher has been parked, unused, for about 3 years as I'm recession-hit and can't bear to spend half of its original cost on a call-out. It's had very little use anyway but previously always worked without any faults. I'd say its service life is no more than about 2 years.
1) There is no obvious blockage around the impeller. However rotating it manually reveals an intermittent resistance similar to a magnetic field.
2) Is the pump access and replacement on this model (supplied in UK) essentially identical to that shown in the videos?
3) When removing the backflow valve there was an amount of water released into the impeller chamber: is this as expected?
4) Is it possible to easily test the pump function without filling the machine completely?
