Side by side stops cooling, then I turn off circuit breaker and it works again. What's likely wrong?

The refrigerator is a profile side by side fridge about 4 years old.

About a month ago the fridge stopped working, then we ordered a new fridge assuming the compressor was out, then suddenly it started cooling again, so we cancelled the new fridge.

The 4 days ago it stopped cooling again. When this happens it seems like there is sort of snow on the stuff in the freezer and the temperature starts going up. It occurred to me to try to turn off the circuit and that turn it back on to see if that resets the state , well that seemed to work and get the thing cooling again.

Then yesterday after a few days after the reset get the snow in the freezer and the temperature starts dropping again :( So again I turn off the circuit and it starts cooling again. Clearly I need to either fix this thing or get a new one.

Does anyone have any idea what would cause these symptoms?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
