I have a GE Artica freezer on top. Two months ago I noticed the fridge stopped cooling but the freezer was cooling. There was some frost build up on the vents on the back and the air passage from the freezer to the fridge was blocked because no air was passing through. I thawed everything out and started it again the the next day and everything worked fine for 2 more months. Then yesterday the same thing happened. I had a local repair man look at it and without really testing anything he said the motherboard needed to be replaced and he would do it for $370. I was relunctant to proceed so I just thawed everything out again and now it is running again. Should I go ahead and order a new motherboard for $160 online and replace it myself or do you think it is something else?
