Hi all,
I'm the 2nd owner of a GE Eterna Series side-by-side ESS25LGPAWW of have had it 6 years without any problems. My wife just did a big Costco run and we suddenly noticed a day later that all the ice inside was melted away and most of the food thawed. We turned the temp control to a few digits cooler and thought it start working again last night but this morning we see it's not. The refrigerator side seems just fine. We just emptied the freezer and we're taking the frozen/thawed food to a friends house.... their seems to be plenty of air circulating in the freezer but doesn't feel cold, maybe cool at best.
Now what?
Is this 9-10 year old refrigerator worth calling out a repair technician or time to have picked up for a $50 utility rebate check and buy a new one? Ironically, I just lost my job 2 weeks ago, am married, and have 3 young children to provide for so buying a used/new refrigerator is a major challenge.
