Frigidaire gltf2940es0 washer won't drain and spin in normal setting. Only in drain/spin setting

So I've been reading through these forums and although there are several posts similar to mine, I can't seem to get this thing working again. It started with an E59 error code. Basically, the washer stops like it is finished, but the clothes are soaking wet and there is still some water in the drum. Now, at this point, I can put the washer into the specific drain/spin setting and all seems to work. So I ran test 12 and determined it was the motor control board (I think some people also call this the speed control board). Replaced the motor control board and didn't resolve the problem. Then someone said that it could be a faulty door lock mechanism. Replaced it, and still no dice. Finally, replaced the motor, same issue. As another resort, I pulled apart the drain boot and hoses and made sure they were clean (which they were) because some users had indicated that they found socks and coins and stuff that caused the problem. When the washer does drain, it is full boar draining.

I feel like I am running out of options. I have a lot of $$$ invested in these parts at this point and the washer still stops after washing and the clothes are soaked. Putting the washer into the specific drain/spin setting seems to work, but I don't understand why it doesn't do that in a normal cycle. I appreciate anyone's advice on this matter.
