We are doing a kitchen remodel and the old fridge went with the cabinets as someone purchased the whole lot. we bought from a dealer on craigslist (first mistake) because he offered a 30 day warranty and we figured we would be done by then, and could resell. First day we had it on we realized the ice maker did not work, although the water in the door did. There is no filter but seems to have a by pass in. I loosened the pumps, and connectors at the back to look. The electrical connectors looked corroded, so I unhooked them and cleaned them. I also disconnected the tubing to the ice maker and blew through it to make sure it was clear. I put everything back in to check, and now nothing works. No ice, and no water on the door. The light comes on, and when I push the cubes I can hear the auger. My problem is that I can not afford to replace all the parts, so how can I eliminate some? I see a relay, solenoids, valves, tubing and then the ice maker, plus wherever the control board is. I know we could get by without these, but sure would be nice to use, and also make it more saleable. The dealer had said he would send a repairman, but then never did, and now won't answer the phone or email. Very frustrating.
