I have an older front load washer that has been having a problem for some time and it is getting worse. Basically, the door closes and everything turns on but when it gets to the Final Spin it stops (all lights are still on). Sometimes it will eventually activate but it can take 3 hours to do a load of laundry. I believe the problem is simply that the door doesn't close securely enough to activate some kind of sensor or internal button which triggers the cycle. I say this because if I press hard on the door the cycle starts up but as soon as I release the pressure it stops again. We had a workaround which was to wedge a piece of cardboard between the door and the door opening which helt door closed tighter but even that isn't always working now.
Need someones help :( The machine is older so I really don't want to spend a lot of money to have it repaired but it still washes well so I donlt want to have to purchase a new one. Ideally I would love to repair it myself but I'm not the handiest guy in the world........ :p
