Same problem with my Maytag. They fixed it under warranty about 3 weeks before warranty expired (1 year). It broke again 13months later. Maytag basically laughed at me. I purchased the control panel and installed it myself. I will never buy Maytag again, not because of their shoddy products but because of the lack of customer service.
If you don't mind paying $70 a year to replace the front control panel, Maytags are awesome.
