Hi, new to this forum and I appreciate all replies/comments to my problem. Here is my question:
I have a Atlantis washer that until recently had no problems. Now the inner tub spins in one direction during agitation. The agitator goes back and forth like normal however during the wash cycle the inner drum will spin in one direction. With the water level at maximum, the spinning tub throws water out of the machine. I've also noticed at the end of the spin cycle the inner tub will continue to spin until it comes to a stop on it's own.... usually a few minutes after the spin cycle has ended.
I can spin the inner tub by hand when the machine is turned off and while operating the wash cycle with the lid off, there is a lot of resistance trying to keep the inner tub from spinning.
Everything else works fine, wash, fill, drain spin on all cycles. There are no strange noises, squeaks, grinding or whinning and the noise the machine makes in all cycles sounds normal. No burning smells either.
Any suggestions on the problem and how to fix it? Unfortunately I can't afford a new washer before the beginning of the new year.
Again thanks for any answers
Jim
