Burning smell from dryer, clothes not drying

I am having issues with my dryer. When I tried to dry clothes last night, there was a burning smell like singed hair, and although I could feel heat coming from the back of the dryer, the clothes were still very damp, even after a second cycle.

Any idea what is going on?
