Whirlpool super capac 465 Surface burners (front) don't ignite

Left (high capacity) front burner never lights with its own igniter. Some exciting times it will light off the back one (with an impressive "Whoomp".) The right front lights intermittently. The ceramic surrounds on both front sparkers are broken. All 4 burners DO make spark when any single burner is turned on. I saw in the parts lists on several sites that there are several ignitors for this model w different length of tails. When I checked applicability on the item pages, they said they didn't fit my model.

This sounds like a pretty easy fix with the right part. Is it the ignitors?
