Long story short, my uncle gave me a this washer/dryer stack but there was some miscommunication. I thought it was fixed...he didn't want to fix it and that's why he gave it to me - which led to my basement being flooded.
The washer will fill up with water and never stop filling. The water was warm, so hot and cold water inlets are working. It seems to me that a float stop or sensor that tells the washer it is full is broken. A local shop said that a drain pipe could have become disconnected...but I'm not sure why that would lead to overfilling.
The washer did not begin agitating, it kept filling with water until it overflowed over the top of the tub.
Any thoughts?
