Maytag A710 won't agitate or drain

I have an old Maytag A710 that just stopped working. It will fill ok, but will not agitate or drain. I can hear the timer clicking, but nothing happens. I see a lot of posts where people point to the lid switch, but mine seems to be working. I hear it click and when I open the lid while water is filling the washer, the water will stop. The belts seem ok. I can't manually move the agitator in either direction.
