Hello,
I have a large, upright freezer in the garage. Sunday a week ago, I put something in the freezer and didn't notice the door was slightly ajar when it closed. Monday I discovered that when I stepped into a puddle. I mopped it out and closed the door. The stuff inside was mostly thawed at the top and partially thawed at the bottom. Tuesday morning it was only a little better. I noticed ice had built up across the bottom vent. I carefully chipped that out. Tuesday evening it wasn't much better. I moved as much as I could to another freezer, leaving some sacrifices in the old one that I figured to deal with after work the next day. Wednesday after work, everything in the old freezer was frozen solid. For a week now, it seems to be working as expected.
Some other info. It's hot in the garage. Probably in the mid to high 90's. The freezer was very full. The question is whether, under the circumstances, the freezer would normally take a couple of days to get to temperature.
Thanks in advance,
CR
