I've been working on this machine for weeks (long story) and once I thought I was all set it started to squeal during agitation. I replaced the suspension rods (didn't fix anything), replaced the shift actuator to fix the speed sensing and put in a new main control board. I'm suspecting that the belt is too loose but I'm hoping you guys can give me some guidance before a spend another dime on this thing.
I can run the manual test for spin (low and high speed) with no problem.
Running the agitation test squeals in both directions in both short and long agitation modes.
I removed the belt and there is no squealing, but moving the pulley by hand doesn't seem overly difficult.
I suspect that the spin starts slow and ramps up which keeps the belt from slipping.
The belt seems to have decent tension and there is no real adjustment, although I have pried it over while tightening the motor bolts.
Is there anything else you can think of that would cause the squeal?
Thanks in advance.
