Hello!
My electrical dryer (Kenmore) keeps blowing the Thermal Cut-Off. I have replaced it once already (last week) and just yesterday it went out again. At the beginning, I thought it was the Heating Element since the dryer still works fine, but heat is blowing. So, I checked the Thermal Cut-Off and found it to be blown, which was the case this second time. When I replaced it the first time, I only replaced the Thermal Cut-Off and left the existing Hi-Limit Thermostat. I am leaning on replacing both, once i get them, instead of just doing the cut-off.
I do want to mentioned that this dryer was messed with big time before. I bought it used and later found that the cut-off was bypassed for who knows how long. Also, the motor was NOT the one for this model. The only reason why i know this, is because the motor went out and I had to replace it so I had to opened up the dryer and noticed all this issues.
So, what could be causing the cut-off to keep failing and how can i prevent it from happening again? (for good this time). Also, when i replaced the motor, i just placed the wires equally to the new motor, can a bad wiring be a possibility? I will post the motor wiring picture as soon as i get home.
P.S. I was able to find the wiring diagram is needed.
