Whirlpool Cabrio dryer code AF

My Cabrio drier has been flashing AF (air flow) for the last few months now. I've always ensured the lint screen is clean and have pressed the pause/cancel button for the flashing to stop. The last few weeks the drier has had a hard time completely drying the clothes even after 75 minutes on either medium or high. Yesterday my husband removed the back panel and took out the section that has lint trap tunnel and cleaned it out with the ShopVac, as well as carefully vacuumed inside the dryer itself. I ran a load of sheets and blankets using the sensed timer and AF never flashed - I was so excited! This morning I did another load, again using the sensing timer, but unfortunately the AF started flashing again. I'd like to avoid calling out the repairman; the last time we did was for the washer for a small part that was going to take two weeks to come in, with another service charge (by the time we would have been done paying for that I could have bought a new unit); long story short, we got the part number, ordered the part from Amazon and repaired it ourselves for under $50.

Would love to hear advice as to what may be causing the AF to flash even after cleaning out the accumulated dust and lint from the cabinet interior. Many thanks!
