Kenmore HE3 Dryer no heat

Hello. I have a Kenmore HE3 dryer that stopped producing heat. The blower works fine and the ducts are clear. I did have lots of lint collected in the bottom, which I cleaned out.

After reading up on some posts here, I checked the outlet for 220 voltage, the dryer's heating element, thermal cut-offs, high-limit thermostat, thermal fuse, and thermistor. All elements check out using my multimeter. (You guys rock with your instructions!) I was stumped afterwards, so I called it in for repair. The tech confirmed that all elements that I checked were ok.

Afterwards, he started tinkering around the machine control electronics board and took off the console and touchpad assembly. After inspecting it and putting it back together, he couldn't get the dryer to work at all! The machine will not respond to any buttons other than with three beeps. Also the display shows what looks like a backward 7, like this:

He thinks it needs a new control board. I'd like to ask for your opinion since you guys are very knowledgeable. Thanks in advance for all your help.
