The lid switch has become droopy on my Kenmore Combo 110 unit.
To currently get it to activate, I have to reach it with my left hand and push up from the bottom on part of it to the right of the hole. I can then put something in the lid switch hole and then the cycle is "back on track". I can often usually slowly remove my hand and things will still stay activated (assuming something is in the hole activating it). However, using the lid or simply putting something in the hole will not activate it as it seems the rest of lid switch unit goes down a little with such action.
So, yes, with my left hand I can feel there's less than a inch of droop, if that makes any sense. I don't believe the switch is faulty in an electrical sense.
I have seen a few other posted questions about accessing this area, but it's still not totally clear to me hot to access it. I believe I have to remove the middle panel (between dryer and washer) via the two screws. And then remove some other screws (on the backish side?) and then eventually the top lid slides off? I see the two locking tabs in the crease on the front, but I don't quite get what to do with them.
Thanks,
