Hello out there. I 'm hoping someone can help. I have a side by side frigidaire (10 years old)that is on a weird defrost cycle. Everything starts to thaw out in the freezer...ice melts..frozen food softens.. which lasta for about a day and a 1/2 to 2 days and then suddenly in starts freezing again...makes new ice..and after a couple of days it thaws out again. There is a lot of frost build up which I clean out but it only builds up again. I've cleaned all of the coils and made sure nothing was blocking the vents...although I do notice that the vent inside the freezer on the bottom gets completely frosted up when it's in the thawing mode.. Could this be something as simple as the defrost thermostat or should I start looking for a new fridge. Please bear with me I'm a musician.
