Hey guys,
I have a Whirlpool WFW9400SW00. Bought back in 2007. Went to run a cycle through it....turned it on, selected my cycle, and hit start. When I hit start, it just beeped three times. Tried hitting start a few more times and it didn't work. So I thought maybe the lock was messed up. Pressed and held it, and it made a crazy messed up screeching beep sound and I thought flashed F70. I didn't remember for sure because I wasn't ready for something like that.
Unplugged it, waited a bit, plugged it back in, and the power button would not work. Got the three beeps with that.
Got poking around online, found some recommendations. Pulled off the connector with three blue wires, and I could turn it on and get it to start a cycle by putting water in. But it would not run the drum.
Poked around online some more, and found the service tech sheets for it. When I pushed the start button 2-5 seconds for five times, it ran through the diagnostics thing. At least I think. It really didn't follow what I read in the tech sheets. Here's what it does:
All lights go on, then off
Then it scrolls through the next codes. Each one stays on for a couple seconds and beeps as it progresses to the next one. I'm assuming its progressing on the ones that are there for more than one beep:
C:00
C:00
C:00
U:01
U:00
U:00
C:00
n:00
Then the display goes blank and the amber led dots light up for a few seconds
Then is says C00 (with no colon) and sits for about 2 minutes.
Next F 70 pops up with the 70 flashing.
The tech sheet says I can scroll through the fault codes by pressing whatever button I used to enter the diagnostic mode (in my case, I used the start button), however it does not scroll, beep, or anything. It just stays on F 70 with the 70 flashing.
I've done this three times so far, and its been the same. To get out of it, I either have to hit the power button or the cancel button, in which both of those makes it shut off. Hitting the power button again results in three beeps.
So.,.......what do I need, where's the link to get it from you guys, and when will it ship? LOL And if I read on here correctly, if its actually something else, I can return the part for free and try something else? Sounds like great customer service to me!!
Thanks!!
