Maytag MAH8700A not draining water.

Hello,

I have a Maytag MAH8700A that I am having problems with.

Originally it was believed to have had a bad motor because the spin cycle was not observed, I proved this false. Now I believe it to be tied to the pump somehow, here is why.

I downloaded the Technical Information manual for this model and did all the troubleshooting, results are as follows.

Quick Spin Test:
Works!

Component Testing:
ALL components test properly (with the exception that this unit does not have a MEMS Sensor).

Curious thing though, to test the Drain Pump it says: "During drain check voltage at Pin #1 of CN5 and Pin #6 of CN10". I did that and at ALL times it has 120vac running through it. So no matter if I put it into drain mode (via Output Test of the drain cycle) or not, it still tested 120vac.

Output test:
Everything worked EXCEPT for the Drain Pump. When I pressed the selector to turn the pump on/off, nothing happened (bear in mind 120vac was found no matter which state this was in in the previous test). My brother believes that when I do the "Pump" test the door should lock then drain, but neither happens on this test, and I cannot confirm whether the door is supposed to lock.

Input Test:
Everything worked.

Quick Service Cycle:
Hot water - worked
Cold water - worked
Bleach - worked
Softner - worked
Cold water on until water level detected - worked
Tumble clockwise for 5 seconds - worked
Tumble clockwise for 5 seconds - worked
NOTHING HAPPENS AT THIS POINT, it just sits there until I advance to the next cycle, which returns "PASSED".

Door Switch:
It seemed like everything worked when I check the connections and continuity.

Troubleshooting:
Under troubleshooting "Tub will not drain", it says one thing to check is "120vac at the pump". Well, I connected my meter to both pins of the pump and then the harness and got nothing. With the meter connected and doing the Output Test of "Drain", when I press the button to turn it off/on all I get out of the meter is a little jump of power (ie. it jumps to .1v and then back to 0).

Clogged Pump:
I pulled it all apart and cleaned both lines out and also disassembled the pump, it was all clean and clear.

Pump Test:
I connected the pump to 120vac and it pumped away, so it works.

Conclusion:
It seems almost as if "something" should be happening as a prelude to the pump that isn't; whether it be some sort of sensor or switch or relay, it seems to be skipping this and therefore not draining, I suppose. It is not the pump as there has been a few times when I put it into "Drain Only" mode that the pump comes on for 1 to 2 seconds, but that only happened twice during my all day of troubleshooting and testing.

Anyone have any ideas? Any other tests I should run?

I appreciate your help, thanks!
