I bought a new 28.5 cubic foot Samsung and all seems to work ok except for the "Cool Select Pantry". The separate temperature control buttons seem to have no effect on the temperature in the pantry. The 3 controls are Deli 41F, Fresh 38F, & Chilled 34F. There is some temperature fluctuation but it doesn't seem related to what I push but more just random fluctuations in temperature. It hangs out around 37-40F. I'm guessing it could just be receiving the air from above in the refrigerator since my temps in my frig range around 36-38F.
I'm not sure what to expect with the "Cool Select Pantry" and what is it's proper behavior and how much is just marketing. Does the "Cool Select Pantry" seem to be defective? I will call to have it fixed under warranty, but my experience with warranty repairman has not been stellar since sometimes they don't get paid much for warranty work, so I want to know what is expected with this Pantry so I can get them to come if it is indeed defective.
