Hi, first off this is a great forum and very helpfull, thanks for that!
My SxS is not freezing. I've done some research and troubleshooting and all symptoms are pointing towards a slow running condensor fan. Symptoms are as follows. Freezer temps around around 40*f and fridge is about 60*f. The Yoder loop is very warm and the compressor is hot. Light frosting on the evap coil and that fan seems to be running like a champ. Heres my dilemma, this fridge is a garage fridge and cost me 150 bucks 3 years ago. The fan motor costs 155 bucks plus shipping. I can get another used fridge off craigslist for around the same price as the motor. :eek:Or I was thinking:eek: I could bypass the fan in the compessor compartment and mount some PC cabinet fans to the access panel and push fresh air onto the components. The fans are 5" x 5" and move a good amount of air. I would place one to blow on the condenser and another to blow on the compressor. I think it could work and the best part is it wouldnt cost me a dime. I was hoping to get a pros opinion and also find out if there is anything I missed during troubleshooting?
Thanks!
