Kenmore series 80 washer agitating very weak, loud clunck after spin

This washer is still covered under a homeowner's warranty...set to expire soon. I have at least 3 problems right now with this washer.
  1. When full of clothes, the agitator does not move strongly, but moves better the fewer clothes we put in the tub.
  2. The machine is making a loud squeaking/squealing noise when washing/spinning
  3. At the end of spin cycle the machine makes a very loud clunk, and the tub locks up instantly.
  4. The bottom snap clamp/bracket on the drain pump is severely rusted.

I took the machine cover off to look for any obvious problems. When I took off the clamps for the drain pump is when I found the rusted bracket on the underside of the pump. (I also got a few drops of water in my hand; not sure if that is to be expected) I then removed the motor and found when I turned the shaft by hand there is a loud squeal/squeak noise. To me the bearing is worn/failing? Also, behind the motor I noticed the place where the motor coupler is was filled with fine rubber grinding from the coupler. It does look like the coupler has failed, but it has been worn significantly out-of-round on the outside edges. So the tech shows up at the house and says:
1. The motor is failing and will be replaced.
2-3. There is nothing that can be done about the clunk....he claims to have worked for Sears/Kenmore for 6 years, and all the machines do this over time.
4. He didn't see a problem with the rusting bottom bracket under the drain pump. He didn't see any water.

I didn't want my wife to tell him about me being inside the machine; as I don't know if that would violate the warranty...but I get the feel that this tech is feeding me a line about the clunk noise and the rusting bracket....Am I wrong in thinking this?
