The fridge/freezer was working today. Was dispensing ice when everything stopped working. No cooling, no lights, no controls, no lights on control board. I did pull the fridge out and made sure I have power at the receptacle.
One thing I found is that the thermistor that is attached to the same wire harness as the icemaker was hanging down into the ice and the wire is broken. I removed the covers to get to the harness and found that the ice tray is cracked. That explains the problems we been having with large chunks of ice froze together.
Anyhow, I find it hard to believe that this bad thermistor would cause a no power to any part of the fridge problem but I am no fridge mechanic so... I do know that during this no power situation there is at least some voltage getting to this thermistor because I accidently felt it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
