Hello,
Recently, my wife started mentioning how the door to my GE front loader (WSXH208A1WW) would refuse to open, even when the program finished. I noticed moving the dial to start another program allowed me to open this door, so I didn't think much of it.
Today, the washer seems to stall. The dial isn't moving to the next 'step', so it' just keeps doing whatever the dial position dictates. Moving the dial one notch makes the washer proceed with the next step, but then it gets stuck again. Since there are so many steps, you can see how this makes the washer useless as you have to babysit it.
I confirmed that it's still able to spin the drum (both at low and high speed), it's able to pump in clean water, and remove the dirty water, so I'm guessing it's something with the motor control board (hoping I'm wrong tho).
The WSXH208A1WW was built in 03/04, and I remember reading somewhere that there was a bulletin for this unit stalling, posted sometime in 2004, but would like some help confirming this issue.
If it is the motor control board, what's the best/cheapest source for these boards? Is it something I can fix myself with a soldering gun?
Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
