Whirlpool duet dryer model GGW9250PW0 won't start

Have a Whirlpool duet dryer model GGW9250PWO that won't start. All lights come on when I run enter the diagnostic tests and those test are fine until I get to "open the dryer door". The number 69 appears and does not turn to "g" (for gas) as the diagnostics paper says it should. I cannot find anywhere what the number 69 indicates. Any help would be appreciated!
