The water heater keeps shutting off. I thought it was the screen being dirty and not allowing the air, which has happened before. I need to learn how to clean the thing better I guess. I just blew it out with my air hose. This time I just opened the front panel with the window to let air in and thought all was good. It ran for a few days then turned off again. Today I went down to relight it, but this time the pilot would light, but after a short time I attempt to turn the gas knob to on to light the burner and the pilot light goes out and does not stay. I have seen this before and thought I would go ahead and change the thermo couple. I just need some reassurance that is the correct plan of attack. Then I hope I can buy just the thermo couple and not the complete unit.
What do you think?
Thanks.
