Ice Maker Won't Make Ice / No LED

Hi Folks -

Having an issue with the ice maker on our GE PDS22MCRBWW refrigerator -- it's not making ice.

Upon further investigation, the small LED (it's green on our other GE fridge) doesn't come on at all. I had a look at the technical service guide --http://www.applianceblog.com/manuals/GE_Electronic_Ice_Maker.pdf -- and it claims that no LED means a bad switch, a loose lead or a bad control board.

The refrigerator hasn't been moved since being installed nearly a decade ago, so I think it's safe to rule out a loose lead.

I've confirmed there isn't an issue with the water feed, and for fun, I put in the filter bypass cap. Besides this, the fridge appears to be operating normally, isn't making any funny sounds, etc. I even tried to fire off the 'Service Diagnostic' mode and nothing happens.

Since the light doesn't even illuminate on the ice maker itself....my gut feeling is to roll the dice and order a replacement. With the fridge being nearly a decade old (and truthfully, just used for overflow items from another fridge) I can't justify spending service tech prices to diagnose/replace parts....

Am I missing anything here? Should I look at anything else before pulling the trigger on the replacement ice maker?

Thanks a ton in advance!

-Craig
