I've been fighting a battle with low water pressure inside my refrigerator. I've always had good pressure from the wall to the unit but never once it reaches the unit itself. I've replaced the valves and the diodes to the valves with no luck. Today I was getting some water through the door and the water drizzled down to nothing. I pulled the valves off and there was no water coming from the first valve. I pulled the water supply hose of the valve and ran a bit of water through and the water just came shooting out. I ran about 1/2 gallon out and it seemed file, for some reason I decided to keep it going when all of a sudden this gunk came shooting out of the hose. It looks like it might be mold but am unsure.
Has anyone seen this before? If so is there any way of preventing it from happening again? Unfortunately the gunk has clogged up the valves and it looks like I might have to replace those, unless someone knows a way to clean the inside gunk out.
I'm posting this in the general threads since it really has nothing to do with a brand specific model.
