My centennial washing machine started making a horrible sound during sensing phase and at other random times during a wash cycle. I found a post on this board about the drum pulley nut coming loose. I tipped it over and saw that there was a good bit of belt material that appeared to have been shredded and was plentiful inside the plastic cage covering the drive pulley/drum pully and belt. I removed it and found that the nut on the drum was tight. I went ahead and removed it and cleaned out the belt debris. I also checked for any play in the shaft/drive gear as well as the motor and both are tight without any noise or play. I reassembled with locktite on the nut and the problem got better but still noisy especially with a medium to large load. I ran a load with not cloths and there is zero noise. Anyone have any ideas what is going on with this thing? I havent even had this unit for a full year yet. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
