Hotpoint dishwasher fills then...nothing, just sort of hums.

Hello all,

I have a Hotpoint dishwasher that started acting up. When I start it, it will fill, then nothing else happens. Something smelled hot, so I stopped it. Vacuumed the water out and tried again. Took the bottom panel off to get access to the mechanisms underneath. After it fills, it hums a little. After a few minutes I felt the pump motor and it was getting warm. Sounds like a pump bad to me but wanted to check with those who know more about these before I just blindly go replacing parts.
