Electrical burning smell from washer

Frigidaire top load washer model # FWS1339AC1 has a burning smell coming from the washer. Smells more electrical than rubber burning. Timer also has been sticking prior to draining. Advance the timer and worked for a bit. Today, nothing when adjusting timer to any setting. Gave it about 10 minutes and it started again. Would assume it is the timer but would like a second opinion prior to ordering parts.

First ever issue with this machine and is used almost daily (9 member household).
