Fridge and freezer stopped cooling

This morning I noticed the food in the freezer was starting to thaw and the fridge felt warmer than normal. Front panel indicated freezer temp was -6 and fridge was 36 degrees. Unplugged and plugged back in and the temps were now showing 41 and 65. I cleaned the coils and the fan (which were bad) and noticed the compressor is hot. Now in the last hour the fridge temp has dropped by 4 degrees but no movement on the freezer yet.

Did the cleaning likely fix the issue since is it starting to cool or is there probably a larger issue that needs to be looked for?
