Hey all,
I have a dishwasher that has, from one day to the next, stopped draining. It makes a grinding noise while trying to drain and the level does not drop, so I sucked the water out with a shop vac to get a closer look. I've had the inside apart all the way down to removing the volute cover. Nothing appears to be obstructing the motor. It will turn by hand. Not freely, it feels like there is resistance, but it does rotate. Kind of like a spring-actuated mechanism that snaps forward after reaching a certain point. Does that make sense?
I think I've narrowed it down to the drain pump assy. but I want to be sure there's nothing I've missed before I go spend the money. FYI - There is no garbage disposal attached (I've seen that mentioned as a possible culprit.)
