I have a kitchenaid KSCS25FKSS02 side by side fridge.
The water inlet tube (soft semi clear plastic) as well as the hard tube it fits on/over occasionally ices up. (i guess this model has kind of a 2 part fill tube). This has led to the water line coming out of the inlet port at the back of the fridge when it trys to pump water into the icemaker a couple of times. This first time it happened i thought the compression fitting and clamp was just loose, but realized that the line inside was blocked with ice so the pressure just popped out the line. I use a blow dryer to unfreeze the fill tube and it will work ok - then with no set pattern or timeline - it will ice up again. Sometimes it pops out the water line from the inlet port but i have tightened the clamp further. it just froze again causing a leak in back to i am now at wits end.
The icemaker itself appears to work fine with good cubes, etc and other than this - the freezer, fridge work great. I just cant handle the water damage to the hardwood floor since i dont know the line has popped if i dont catch the frozen fill tube in time.
Any thoughts/guidance as what to replace, adjust or fix??
thx for any help!!!
