I have a Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator, GC5SHEXNT02 Manuf Year is 2005, excellent condition. Yesterday, it seemed to lose it's cooling ability, the temperature settings would not respond and I observed water dripping inside the freezer in the back towards the bottom (I could see it dripping through a cut-out in the back of the freezer) and it was defrosting - everything was getting warm inside. As the water dripped it made a sizzle sound when it hit a hot pipe (I assume). I pulled out the refrigerator and there was no water leaking onto the floor. I put everything in a cooler and removed the ice bin (which resides in the door). After doing this, it started cooling again. I made ice in a tray just to verify. I have kept everything out for 24 hours, including the ice storage container in the door, so the freezer is not making ice on its own. Any ideas as to what is going on? Thanks in advance!
