This has been frustrating me for quite some time. We are on our second KitchenAid compactor in about 15 years and we've ALWAYS had a problem of the unit shifting around in the cabinet opening after it gets heavy with trash. The compactor is 15 inches wide and 24 inches deep. I raised the leveling wheels in the back as well as the legs in the front thinking it might help, but nope. I'm not a contractor, but I think extending the ceramic tile into the cabinet opening wasn't a good idea. It probably makes it more slippery. In addition, the counters are granite and the unit can't be anchored to it in any way. There are no options that I can find for attaching it to the sides of the wood cabinets on each side either. If anyone has a solution that will keep this thing firmly in place after holding 50+ pound of trash, PLEASE let me know.
