So, the fan on my dryer is worn and fits loose on the shaft -- as it gets up to speed, it migrates down the shaft and makes a buzzing/screeching sound as it rubs against the fan housing.
It's easy enough to replace the fan, but I'm concerned that the shaft may be damaged -- there are grooves where the fan clamp/clip rubbed on the shaft.

My concern is that a new fan (& clamp) won't hold tight on the motor shaft due to grooves in the shaft -- what says ye' experts? If I slap a new fan & clamp on there, will it hold......
