Ice maker problem

I own a Frigidaire Side-by-Side Refrigerator model# FRS26KR4DQ2. We have had this fridge for about 7 years.
We have lived in our house now for 5 years and for the entire time we have lived here it has been hooked up to a water softener. About 1 yr ago we could only get crushed ice from the machine. I thought the switch may be going out but after a couple of months it started putting out whole ice again. About 2 months ago it stopped producing ice. I found by turning off the ice machine, letting it set for 1-2 hrs it would start making ice for a few days. Within the past week it has COMPLETELY stopped making any ice. Rather I turn off and on or not.
I have read a parts site and found that 1 or 2 things normally fixes the problem.
1. The "Water Inlet Valve"
2. The "Icemaker Assembly".
I removed the lower back panel to check the valve. When I removed the water line it started leaking water so I knew there was water there. QUESTION: Does that valve pressurize the water to get it up to the Ice Maker?

I also removed the Icemaker Assembly and cleaned it up with Vinegar water with out submersing any of the electrical parts.

Do you have any suggestions as to which one may be the problem so that I don't end up replacing both unless necesary?
