Hello,
I just bought a washer from another person, and it seemed to work fine when I hooked it up and started a load before he left. However after he left when I tried to run a real load, it overflowed. It will not stop filling, it never moves beyond the fill part of the cycle.
I read several other threads and tried to figure it out. I opened my console and sure enough, my clear hose for the water pressure switch was not attached. So I connected it, put it back together thinking that would fix it.
Unfortunately, it did not. So I took it farther apart according to a video in the other thread (Whirlpool/ Kenmore Direct Drive Washer Disassembly - YouTube) and I noticed two concerning issues:
1. During the video at 1:06, it says 'Unplug the wire connector'. Mine is not connected, nor is there a head to plug in there. I do see at least 1 green wire that has been clipped, others might be wrapped up in the electrical tape. I don't know if my model maybe has no use for this, so it shouldn't be connected, or if someone has done something to this washer. (What does that wire do?)
2. I traced the clear hose down to a small container that I am assuming should be filled with water. It is not, there is no water in the small plastic reservoir at the outside right rear of the tank. Nor is there any water in the hose at all. Should there be water in there somewhere?
Apart from that, I do not know why it will not stop filling. Could either of these two be the issue? If not, any other ideas?
Thanks,
Chris
