Hello,
I have a 1950's G.E. refrigerator. The attached photo is the exact clone of it. It is used only for milk and beer. The freezing compartment is never used.
My question is: If I remove the freezer door, will the refrigerator cool better and faster? Part of me says heck yes! The other part says, wait a minute. The thermostat appears to be in the freezer compartment. By leaving the door off, the thermostat will probably never again sense freezing temperatures, which may cause the unit to run and run and run. But maybe, by dialing the thermostat way back, this may work out OK?
Any thoughts on this?
Many thanks for any help.
T'care,
Mike
