GE Quitepower3 not draining well.

I have to clean the filter 2 times per week. Or else water will start accumulating in base. I did remove pump and found a piece of glass in it. It now pumps, slow at first then builds volume. I did check discharge hose for other material.
Also screen has very little material on it before I clean it.
