I have a GE Profile model TFX25PP from 1988. The auger motor froze up today so I took it out, defrosted it, reinstalled it and now it is working fine. In researching the auger motor, I found pics of the motor with a clear plastic protector over the motor. Apparently this plastic protector is to keep moisture out of the motor. My auger motor does not have the plastic protector over it so apparently it was invented/added after our refrigerator was made. In fact the parts sites do not show the protector as a part for my model number so apparently it is not a part of this model. My question - should I get a protector and put one on my auger motor? What part number would the auger motor protector should I get? It looks like the auger motor assembly is WR60X10262. Thanks for any advice.
