GE Profile side by side. Bought in 2008.
We've had black mold in the area near the water dispenser. Most of it is on a white circle above the dispenser. It looks a lot like the white circle at http://www.applianceaid.com/images/gss25hgpww1.jpg. We are able to clean about 90% of the area with a Q-tip, but there are nooks and crannies that we can't get to. So there's still black mold visible on that white circle. I want to clean EVERYTHING, so it seems that I can do that only if I remove that white circle.
Can that white circle be removed? The article at Ice Dispenser Door Help | Appliance Aid explains how to get to it, but can it be removed? If so, how?
Btw, I don't see any date on that article, so when it says "Newer GE fridges", I'm not sure what that means. "New" for an article written in 2002 means something different than "new" in a 2013 article.
