Need serious help for myself and Habitat For Humanity in Chattanooga, TN. Maytag of Cleveland, TN donated over 20 ranges to Habitat here, but they may be factory set-up as LP.
My story- I bought a stove, and the Habitat manager said he already had one customer return a stove because it was set-up. I went to parking lot and called Maytag customer service and giving them the model number. She assured me "all Maytag ranges from the factory are set-up NG." The one I got was in a factory sealed box unopened. Had a plumber come install the stove, and he said the regulator was set up in the LP position. He put it in the NG position, but the surface burners struggle to light and burn low.
I have checked part online and cannot find a part listing for NG orifices. Maytag recommends I purchase four new burner tubes, but I asked and parts listing does not differentiate between LP or NG, so how will that fix the problem?
The Habitat store has stopped trying to sell the ranges without further information. The manager is worried that Maytag has used his store "as a landfill" because as an urban setting, no uses LP and will not purchase the ranges.
